Cool internview, John. It’s funny how a set of circumstances can contribute to the way we view a place in our mind’s eye. My wife and I had a completely different experience in Vietnam compared with Matt. I love the country — in fact, of all the places in Southeast Asia, I find it’s the one that I want to return to most!

Very nice interview. I think what Matt has done with his ebook is genius. It’s hard to visit a travel blog without seeing something about the book, or him. That’s great marketing right there.
Hi Daniel,
I agree. Often we can just have bad luck or great luck in a new country and it completely changes our opinions.
My wife and I thought Vienna was just an average city on our trip there, but most other people I have talked to loved it. I think part of the problem was that we drove to Vienna. That means we spent a lot of time in traffic, finding parking, etc. I think the car ruined our experience of the city.
Matt is doing a great job and he is one of the bloggers that we respect very much. We bought his ebook and found it to be very helpful in building our blog.
It is too bad Matt had a bad experience in Vietnam, we absolutely loved it there and like Daniel it is one of our favourite countries. But then again, so is Thailand.
Bravo for not planning on settling down!

I’m guessing you went to North Vietnam (e.g. Hanoi), am I correct?

The book is great and gets right to the point. I highly recommend it for travel bloggers looking to monetize their sites.

Thanks for the comment Anil!
Yes, Matt’s book is short and focused. A great overview for newbies to making money online.
I agree. Matt is certainly working hard to get known. Effort is the key to success.
